Tiggy Chadwick painting on the set of Portrait Artist of the Year series 10.

About

Tiggy Chadwick (b.1999) is a fine artist from Reading, England, working and living near London. Chadwick is a multidisciplinary artist, working in oil paint, pastels, pencil and also digitally to create a vast array of portraiture. She is interested in capturing the truth of the subject, often using bold and unexpected colours and repeating patterns so compliment the personality of her sitters. She believes that everyone deserves to be immortalised in artwork in some way and enjoys painting a variety of people from different walks of life, in many cases in the act of living an ordinary day. Chadwick also uses abandoned and anonymous family photos as a source material in an attempt to capture the bittersweet nature of every day life that can sometimes pass us all by. In using these photographs, Chadwick hopes to keep the anonymous subjects alive in some capacity.

Chadwick has appeared on Mary Beard’s: Forbidden Art on BBC 2 discussing taboo artwork, and on Portrait Artist of the Year (series 10) on Sky Arts as a contestant.

Her work has been recognised online by Limmy (of Limmy’s Show) on his Twitch Stream and social media, and her work is in the private collection of Rocky Horror Picture Show star Patricia Quinn.
