This painting is derived from a vintage photo of a woman pouring directly into her mouth from the pot. The set of photos appears to be a group of ladies in the late 50’s on holiday together, and in most of the pictures they appear to be heavily intoxicated. I wanted to give this lady a new life in this painting, and have used smoke like brushstrokes to portray the background. As a result, you cannot tell where she is. She could be inside, outside, surrounded by fire or foliage.
